30th NCM #allyouth'sfuture&feelingsmatters
In honor of National Children's Month, DepEd supports child wellbeing and a reduction in bullying. Representatives from DepEd's CPU, Youth Formation Division (YFD), and Stairway Foundation, Inc. participated in the kick-off session and covered issues such as understanding learners' self-concept, safe spaces in school settings, bullying prevention, child participation, and youth concerns.
In keeping withthe country's motto, "Kalusugan, kaisipan, at kapakanan ng bawat bata ating tutukan!" For the entire month of November, DepEd's NCM will discuss four categories of children's rights, including survival rights, development rights, participation rights, and protection rights. Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Z. Duterte said in a video message that "the virtual kick-off program shows DepEd's renewed commitment and ongoing efforts to engage in our learners and enhance their understanding of the importance of mental health. "Additionally, the 30th NCM seeks to address and enhance the mental health of Filipino children through initiatives that address several categories of children's rights, including those that respond to the scope of mental health issues among children prior to and during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I'm sure that this commemoration of the 30th National Children's Month will inspire more significant efforts to develop a knowledgeable, highly self-aware generation of learners," VP and Sec. Duterte continued. DepEd also started its anti-bullying program, which guarantees that child protection committees do their jobs and encourages community involvement in child advocacy. "Every contribution counts, whether it's participating in a school or community event, watching out for someone
being bullied, or bringing up the topic in discussion."
